Description

Spotted Touch Me Not Plant -Impatiens capensis For Sale Affordable, Grower Direct Prices Tennessee Wholesale Nursery

Spotted touch me not has 1/4 to 1/2" long leaves that are long-oval, long-stalked with rounded teeth. The lower leaves are opposite, and the upper leaves are alternate. Because the plant is water-repellent, it looks like raindrops stay on the leaves after it has rained. If you submerge the leaves in water, they will turn a silvery color on the bottom. Early Summer to Fall this plant blooms an orange, trumpet-shaped flower with red, white, or yellow spots. The bloom has three petals on each one and has a long spur at the end so that pollinators can reach the nectar inside.

These plants are very colorful as they bloom and supply beautiful orange blooms that bring life to all gardens. They attract those beautiful hummingbirds as they bloom. Their unique blossoms provide an elegant natural look.

The foliage of this plant is a darker green and looks fantastic as the orange blossoms start to appear. Jewelweed is a type of impatiens that forms a beautifully bright orange bloom. It has a small, pouch-like flower with a long spur in the middle and oval-shaped leaves. This annual flower is self-seeding and typically grows two to five feet in height. Seedlings will sprout in early spring, and flowering begins in mid-summer until the first frost. Though insects or hummingbirds must cross-pollinate their attractive orange flowers, they also have flowers that never open. These flowers will fertilize themselves without another flower.

Discover The Remarkably Beautiful Spotted Touch Me Not Plant

The lovely Spotted Touch Me Not Plant (Impatiens capensis species) grows as a wildflower in North America. Its range extends across Canada, the Eastern United States, Colorado, and much of the Pacific Northwest. Sometimes referred to as "Jewelweed," this beautiful annual displays incredibly showy blooms between July and October.

Spotted (or Not)

Despite its name, not every Spotted Touch Me Not Plant possesses spotted petals. Many do, however. Blossoms usually present as a saffron orange or yellow funnel-shaped inch long flower with a nectar-filled spur curling upwards in the back. Red spots frequently speckle the inner lining of its petals. Gardeners distinguish this type of Touch Me Not variety from the Pale Touch Me Not mainly by the smaller size of the delicate blossoms.

Attractive Leaves And Stems

The Spotted Touch Me Not Plant possesses green stems sprouting leaves in an alternating pattern. Each oblong-shaped light green leaf ends in a point and measures between 1 inch and 3 inches in length and approximately 1.5 inches in width. The leaves contain jagged edges at regular intervals.

Touch Me Not!

Prevent young children and pets from consuming this plant's poisonous berries. The Spotted Touch Me Not Plant prefers moist soil, but tolerates clay, sand, and loam. It thrives in the shade and grows well beneath trees and in wooded landscapes.
