Using American Arborvitae to Define and Enhance Your Garden

Arborvitae, a Latin word that translates to the “tree of life,” is a local plant with a pyramid shape

They have tiny leaves in overlapping rows on branches, showing a fan-like spray. They are well adapted to features like shaping and shearing. This is because they have a pyramid shape which is easy to develop. When squeezed, arborvitae releases a delicious aroma. This is an attribute that makes the plant to be more common in America. Arborvitae is also able to persist through winter. Because of the climatic change in the united states, many plants are not able to persist during the winter season. This is an advantage to arborvitae because it can persist during such a season.

Arborvitae plant has many uses in America

It produces oil which is used as medicine. The oil from its leaves and twigs is used as antifungal, antibacterial, and cancer medicines. In addition, its very soft wood is used to build a canoe and start a fire. The plant is also used to make poles, cross-ties, and posts used in fencing in America.

American arborvitae is easily landscaped

Because of their close spacing of about two to three feet, they can be used to create fences. Because they are easy to trim, they are used to creating a permanent live wall. As they grow, the branches of this plant intertwine to create a tight fence equal to a metallic fence. They are also used to create pathways through yards and gardens—this assists in keeping people in the proper walking avenues where they ought to be. In addition, because of their different colors, which vary from lighter greenish yellow to deep green, they are easily planted together with other plants, creating an elegant contrast.
