Legacy Maple Syrup

Legacy Maple Syrup | Facts and Information

If you'd like to try collecting your syrup, here's the basic idea.

Wait until after the beginning of the year. The nights need to be freezing and the day quite a bit warmer. These are the best conditions for sap running. It would be best if you did that before the beginning of March.

Drill a 2-inch hole a few inches off the ground, then add a spout. After you collect sap in the bucket you've left under the spout, boil it to concentrate the sweetness. Filter out the impurities and package them while the temperature is at least 180 degrees to keep them safe from spoiling. Find the legacy sugar maple in our tree nursery.
