It's just about time to pack up your picnic basket and head out for a noonday meal some lazy weekend.
Picnics started in the Middle Ages when wealthy people brought their meals during hunts. We get the actual word picnic from the French, who call it pique nique.
What's your favorite thing to bring along? Sandwiches? Cold chicken? Antipasto? A bottle of wine? Or, maybe you'd just grab a quick meal at the drive-thru and sit in a park someday during your lunch break.
Regardless of whether or not you go the blanket and picnic basket route this summer, remember to take a break and enjoy at least one lunch out of doors this summer. You deserve the break. The zelkova makes an excellent shade tree. Could you find it in our plant nursery?
