BE Susan
the plant looked like a dried piece of root with some leaves with no soil upon arrival. This the reason I gave it 4 stars. The plant was planted right away and showed a sign of live the next day. The second day it looked much better. Looks like it will be OK.

Black Eyes Susan Plant
The Black-eyed Susan rudbeckia is a flower that features bright yellow petals and a dark brown to black center that makes the plant look like it has an eye. Black-Eyed Susan is a plant that is commonly found across all areas of North America and usually isn't restricted as to the environment where it grows. Black-eyed Susans often grow in open fields so that the petals of the plant can open wide and absorb the sunlight.
Black Eyes Susan rudbeckia plant can be compared to the appearance of a daisy with the design of the petals and the eye of the plant. If left alone, the Black-eyed Susan can reach heights of about three feet. The leaves can span about six inches wide with the stalk of the plant being about eight inches.
Some of the insects that are often attracted to the Black-eyed Susan include bees and butterflies along with hummingbirds. When the plant matures, it develops seeds in the dark center of the flower. These seeds are picked up by insects, birds, or the wind and carried to other areas so that the plant can begin the growing process once again. You'll see the plant growing between June and October, displaying bright colors in early-fall.
Black-Eyed Susan Plant
Does your garden need an uplifting infusion of bright blossoms, that are tough enough to grow, in all 48 of the contiguous states of the United States, and all ten provinces in Canada? This perennial, flowering plant will bloom for months (depending on location and climate), possibly from late spring to late fall, and reappear the following year.
Let me introduce the Black-Eyed Susan Plant. During the stifling heat of summer's dog days, the lemon-yellow, gold, or orange blossoms punctuated by a large black (or brown) eye (center) attached to a rough, bristly-haired stem with oval leaves can light up garden spaces and wide-open fields with color.
In 2008, the National Garden Bureau proclaimed the Black-Eyed Susan (binomial name Rudbeckia hirta) Plant of the Year. This recognition led to the development of numerous cultivars being developed, making the plant available from 18-inch to 7-feet in height with an array of colors and shapes.
Pollinator gardens almost anywhere can benefit from planting black-eyed Susan plants. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and other birds (particularly goldfinches) feast on the seeds and savor the nectar of the beautiful Black-Eyed Susan Plant.
