It is possible to cultivate them in vases or as house plants, and some people choose to grow them in their gardens. You may use them in front of a mixed perennial border, plant them in a rock garden, or let them grow naturally in a woodland garden. You can also make seasonal ground cover in partial shade areas.
This rhizomatous perennial plant is pollinated by native bees and attracted to hummingbirds. The rhizomes are creamy golden and thin with prominent root tips. Its strong roots grasp the soil and may bind the plant in position upon slopes or river banks.
