Hydrangea's Colors | Information

Sunday, March 20

There is nothing more peaceful than looking out my window each day at the gorgeous, full balls of blue that sits below my window.

The hydrangea is one plant that can break up all the green colors that you have planted and grow all-around your home.

With the hydrangea, you can count on it and depend on it year after year. For me, I had always lusted over the gorgeous hydrangea growing ever so fully in everyone’s yard but mine and was so afraid that with my hard, clay soil, I would never be able to get one to grow. Boy, I was wrong. My mother-in-law had broken a piece of hers off by accident, and I begged her not to throw it away, so she brought it to me. One year later, it is thriving with colorful blooms and luscious green foliage.

The blue hydrangea can reach approximately 4-6 feet tall and 4-6 feet wide. The first year may not be such a productive one with the hydrangea, but you won’t be able to stop it once it gets started. The hydrangea comes in pink, blue, and white colors, but blue is the most popular on the list.

The hydrangea grows well in zones 6-9 and thrives well in partial to full sun. The Nikko Blue Hydrangea has so many greens and blues that it goes great with any background it is planted against. Instead, you want to plant the hydrangea alone in a natural area or a flower bed alongside many other perennials. The hydrangea will most definitely stand out and makes it self-known.

So the next time you pass by those gorgeous full blooming balls of blue, think to yourself, where will you plant yours? Will you plant your hydrangea in a flower bed all alone or in the middle of other perennials?
