Blue hydrangeas thrive in well-drained, moist soil with a slightly acidic pH. It's important to regularly water them to keep the soil moist, especially during dry spells. After they bloom, prune them to maintain their shape and promote new growth. In the spring, be sure to fertilize them to encourage vibrant blooms.

How to Grow and Care for Bare Root Shrubs
Bare root shrubs are a budget-friendly and efficient way to plant during the cooler months when they’re dormant. Before planting, soak the roots in water for 3–6 hours to rehydrate them. Choose a site with the appropriate light exposure for the species—most flowering shrubs prefer full to partial sun. Dig a hole wide enough to spread out the roots and deep enough so the crown (where the roots meet the stems) sits level with the soil surface.
Mound a bit of soil at the bottom of the hole, spread the roots over it, and backfill with native soil while gently firming it to remove air pockets. Water deeply after planting to settle the roots. Keep the soil moist but not soggy during the first growing season to encourage healthy establishment.
Mulch around the base (not touching the stems) to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune lightly to remove any broken branches and to shape after the first flush of growth. With minimal care, bare root shrubs will leaf out beautifully and grow into reliable, long-term landscape anchors.

Amazing prices for each plant the redbuds and hydrangeas were really incredible pricing. I gave away maybe 20 redbuds and 3-4 hydrangeas and still planted close to 100 redbuds and 16 hydrangeas. All have leafed out or started to already and the redbuds did literally 3 days after we received them. Although they skipped flowering and went straight to leaf, every single one of them did that and I’m surprised to say the least. The hydrangeas showed up so thick with lots of green buds ready to bust open and the ones that still looked dormant have now opened up and leafed out as well. I have had these for about a week now maybe 8 days and I wish I had bought more of them. All have leafed out or started to already and the redbuds did literally 3 days after we received them. Although they skipped flowering and went straight to leaf, every single one of them did that and I’m surprised to say the least. The hydrangeas showed up so thick with lots of green buds ready to bust open and the ones that still looked dormant have now opened up and leafed out as well. I have had these for about a week now maybe 8 days and I wish I had bought more of them. Two cherrie trees already show leaves starting to pop and I have faith in the other three.
Earlier we purchased two coral honeysuckle bushes and both are moving right along which is exciting.
I usually buy my trees thru the state here in Virginia is very cheap for good product but it’s a small window in the fall. If I’m buying anything plant bush or tree, it’s from tn nursery without a doubt. Very generous with plant counts and their stuff is alive and grows well every time for me.

Purchased last September (24) as a BOGO. Planted as recommended, one has come up and is leafy, the other, didn't make it. Still, I have great hopes for the survivor.
