How To Make A Wreath A Step-by-Step Guide

Wednesday, March 23

You've probably brought fresh cut flowers inside for your dinner table.

You may have even forced some bulbs or used flowering branches on your sideboard. Have you ever considered making your seasonal wreaths?

They're much easier to make than you might think. You can start with grapevines or thin, pliable branches from a tree in your yard.

Wind them into a circle and tie them at regular intervals to help keep the shape. You can even wind them the partway around something like a basketball if it makes it more accessible. To make it easier still, use a store-bought base for your wreath and then add homemade touches from your yard. You can tuck in seasonal leaves, berries, or branches to perk up your living area and add a fresh outdoor scent. Though traditionally used for holiday wreaths, the red berries from an American holly add a cheerful touch any time of year. Find it among our bare-root plants.
