Carex pensylvanica, most commonly known as Pennsylvania Sedge, is a resilient and hardy North American native grass that will thrive across the cooler to moderate temperature regions of the United States. It is an easy-to-care-for ornamental grass species that flourishes in many light conditions, with a preference for full sunshine to partial shade. This perennial ornamental will also grow in full shade; however, it will spread slowly in lower-light conditions.
Unlike some ornamental grasses, it does best in drier soil conditions. This tolerance for dryness makes it a favorite for TN Nursery clients who live in arid climates or often have community watering restrictions.
Carex pensylvanica requires little to no care from the gardener once it establishes its roots. It is drought-tolerant, heat-tolerant, pest-resistant, and disease-resistant.

The Pleasant Appearance of Carex pensylvanica
Pennsylvania sedge grass is a beautiful ornamental.
Small yellow flowers will blossom open in late spring--so petite that you might not notice them. However, the bumblebees and butterflies will find them and help pollinate your yard.
The grass grows in attractive medium-sized clumps in gracefully arching, slender spikes. They are semi-evergreen in the moderately warm USDA growing zones.

Many of the individual plants were intertwined at the roots making it difficult to sort out by individual plants. I came up a little short with my plantings.
This is an excellent product. Really different.
love this stuff
love the way this looks
this looks amazing
In my opinion, not for an inexperienced Gardner....the grasses were shipped in a gallon zip lock bag which was weird, so they have to be divided up but will see how they do after some time.
