Concord Grape Vine
Concord grapes are considered to be one of the finest varieties for wine making. They are also used for making the finest juice. Our Concord grapes are a full bodied variety that will produce grapes the very first season. These are spectacular grape vines and are very popular among homeowners and are also seen growing in vineyards. They also do very good when grown in moist and well-drained soils and also love to be in the full sunshine. They produce delicious grapes that can be enjoyed right from these great vines. This is a lovely way to make sure that all fruit is fresh for families and that none has been treated with pesticides or other chemicals. These grapes are fantastic to create delicious jams and jellies that can be enjoyed during the colder months as the plants go dormant for the winter. These grapes are very large when grown and can also bring in certain wildlife that also loves to feast on them as they grow. These make a great addition to all lawns and bring them to life as they grow and mature. These vines also provide color during the fall months as the leaves change. Native to North America, concord grape vines (Vitis labrusca "Concord") produce rich tasting, deep purple grapes. Vigorous, prolific growers, concord grape vines will easily produce fruit and will do so for 30 years or more, as long as they are properly pruned and cared-for.Purchase one-year-old vines from a reputable nursery. Select a site in full sun, or at least morning sun. Shade for a little while in the afternoon will not adversely affect them.Prepare the soil to a depth of 12 to 24 inches; ensure that the site is well-drained and the soil loose and viable. Erect some type of support for the vines: an arbor above or a trellis flanking each row will provide the support the vines need to thrive and produce fruit.Space the vines six to ten feet apart in rows four to eight feet apart.
