Pine Trees Are Evergreen and Can Grow To Towering Heights - Affordable, Grower Direct Prices from Tennessee Wholesale Nursery
Pine trees are one of the most wide-spread and varied native trees in North America. Almost 40 pine species are found within the United States, many of which are on both the east and west coast. These cone-bearing evergreens generally have resinous wood, needle-like leaves, and a single straight trunk, with lateral branches. Typically cone-shaped in their early years, they develop more rounded tops later. Pine Trees are great for landscaping. They are taller and add some height as well as shape to the various gardens around your home. And, they also bush out and are thicker, making it difficult to see anything on the other side of them. Because of this, evergreens are great for giving you privacy within your yard. You can quickly plant a line of these around your backyard and be assured that you will have the privacy you want.

Pines can create an impressive centerpiece for your garden. Pines make excellent shade trees -- and since they're fast growing you can plant one and expect to relax under it in the not-to-distant future. Pine trees serve your property in a variety of ways while needing minimal maintenance. From thin green pines too numerous blueish types, pine trees offer an incredible diversity of species. Let's look at five reasons to use pines on your property, and see what some favorite varieties are.
5 Reasons To Plant Pine Trees
Pine Trees Are Fast Growing
It may take years for an oak or maple tree to grow large enough to provide shade. Pines are fast-growing trees. They provide shade and privacy when young. Their roots do not damage underground pipes as deciduous tree roots often do
A Row Of Pines Make An Excellent Wind Break
Any tree or plant can provide some shelter. Nothing stops wind and rain like a pine tree. These species protect homes, businesses, and outbuildings from the weather. This lowers heating and cooling costs for buildings. The trees prevent weathering from sun or wind. They require little care in return. Using pines makes excellent windbreaks along roadways and parking lots as well.
Pines Provide Living Fences
Instead of using a wooden or metal fence, pines provide a beautiful living fence that screens your property. They provide privacy from public view and block your view of nearby streets. The thick branches serve as noise dampeners. Pines make excellent boundaries to prevent trespassing. They can be shaped in new forms with careful pruning. Pruning represents the most common maintenance that pines might need. Your living fences can sport an imaginative topiary effect, or it can have a more natural appearance. The choice is yours when you grow pines.
Year-Round Greenery Never Loses Its Beauty
The stunning appeal of greenery in the wintertime is a common reason for planting pines. Pines become dormant during winter, but they keep their vibrant colors for year-round greenery. They offer continued shelter as a windbreak. They also shelter smaller wildlife like songbirds, but they keep larger animals off the property where they might do damage.
Pine Trees Thrive With Low Maintenance
Pines don't shed leaves the way deciduous trees do. You won't face the annual chore of raking or blowing leaves from the property. Pine trees shed their needles, but they do not layer on the ground like mounds of leaves do. The Pin Oak tree will drop half its leaves in the Autumn and half in the Spring when new leaves form. A pine tree will never do this to you.
Some Popular Pine Varieties - Among the many species of pines are some favorites that property owners rely on for beauty and privacy:
