Italian Cypress Tree Seeds
Italian Cypress Tree
The tall, elegant, columnar, narrow silhouette Italian cypress tree is one of the top tree species to enhance your home and property value. Your garden is your priority, and the tall but narrow evergreen tree growing up to 3 feet per year becomes your top choice. The tree is attractive and has soft foliage, which gives a beautiful accent with a bloom color in your garden or driveway.
The tree grows naturally narrow without the need for clipping, and its pencil-like shape is suitable for any garden around the world. You can have the trees planted in a group or as a specimen tree. Both planting designs leave an extraordinarily active and elegant evergreen view. It has a low maintenance cost, requiring little to no pruning to keep it in shape.
Hardness and Drought Resistance
The Cypress tree withstands the lowest freezing temperatures, and you can keep it in a cold building during the cold season. It remains standing tall all through the winter season. So, no matter the season you experience at your residence, the Italian cypress tree will still bloom. With its drought resistance capabilities, the tree can grow in warm or hot regions, and it requires low watering.
You can also grow the tree in a pot to create a beautiful specimen for your terrace, giving a touch of charm. As the tree grows, it requires watering regularly once or twice a week. Nonetheless, once it is grounded for some years, it becomes drought tolerant. It will stay for a more extended period without the need for watering. Even during the most severe drought, the Italian cypress tree remains evergreen.
Soil Recommendation to Grow the Italian Cypress Tree
The tree grows in any soil anywhere around the world. Under the best conditions, the tree grows up to a maximum height of 70 feet. It gets mature at the height of 40-50 feet and a mature width of up to 5. The soil needs to have free drainage to tolerate the shade and thickness of the tree.
During cultivation, the tree needs good organic manure, such as animal or hay manure, spread at its base. It helps it to get a healthy start, which makes it grow rapidly. As the trees grow, you can decide to cut them at the top when they reach the maximum height.
Pests, Diseases, and Deer
The Italian cypress tree does not get affected by severe pests, diseases, or deer. To avoid diseases in humid and wet areas, you need to plant the tree in well-drained soil. This process helps the roots to remain dry and healthy, thus keeping diseases at bay. The plant is also fire resistant.
Italian Cypress Tree Use in the Garden
The cypress tree gives a catchy visual statement to the eye, leaving you with a Mediterranean feel and plantation. Its narrow nature provides an ideal optical block to unsightly background objects. While the trees provide useful windbreaks, the garden gives impressive views and adds value to the environment.
Whether planted as a single specimen or in a row in a driveway or a formal garden, the Italian cypress tree leaves a striking landscape to your garden or home.
