There are ranges in the intensity of the colors, some being redder to purple or lighter pinks. Some species even having white flowers. In summer, the leaves start red to green then change to yellowish in fall. Redbud tree's height ranges between 20 to 30 feet with a spread of the same length. It has a growth rate of 12 to 18 inches per year. Its hardy growth zone goes from 4 to 9, making it an adaptive tree. It does need well-drained soil and does great in small groupings with other trees.
Just as it sounds, the blooming flowers resemble a tulip. The color being yellow-green with an orange band in each. They are small flowers, only growing 1.5 to 2 inches and blooming from May to June. Tulip trees have winged seeds that fall as the seasons change. With bright green in the summer, they are equally bright yellow in fall. Tulip trees are fast-growing types, with an annual rate of 24 inches per year. It allows them to reach heights of 60 to 90 feet and a span of 30 to 40 feet. They thrive with direct sunlight mostly. Their hardy zone factors 4 to 9. They tolerate a range of soil types but enjoying more moist soils. With the size of the Tulip tree, they would do best in larger landscaping areas.
