Caring Tips

How do I care for my Cinnamon Fern?

Each box contains detailed care instructions and information about your product. But here's the basics.

Care Tips

Cinnamon Ferns thrive in consistently moist, well-drained soil. Keep the soil rich and mulched to retain moisture. Water regularly during dry periods and remove dead fronds to maintain their appearance. Fertilize in spring with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer for best results.

Light Requirements

Cinnamon fern (Osmunda cinnamomea) thrives in partial to full shade. It prefers moist, well-drained soils and can tolerate some morning sun, but it should be shielded from the harsh midday and afternoon sunlight to maintain its lush, green foliage.

Alive or ****

Until I see them growing and producing new leaves, I cannot give a good review, that's why it is neutral at this time. Check back when all three have active, healthy new growth.

Cinnamon Fern roots

I received the bare roots today. They look really good and there was a bonus third one in the package! I will get these planted asap and await the new growth.

Planting instructions

Wasn’t quite sure how to plant… which side down (nob up?, nob above/below surface of dirt?, etc). A quick google search on this topic indicated bulbs should be soaked in water for 1 hour prior to planting… should I have done that? More detailed planting instructions would be helpful.

A little disappointed

The order & shipping process was fine. I just didn’t pay attention to the fact that only roots are shipped, not live plants. After receiving the roots only I’m disappointed to have to wait a year to see if it grows. I would not have ordered if I’d known this.
Thank you for fulfilling my request. I will unfortunately not be ordering again.
Thanks
