Eastern Cedar Tree (Juniperus virginiana)  Eastern Cedar Tree: Juniperus virginiana, the eastern cedar tree or the eastern red cedar, is a coniferous evergreen tree. It is a United States native species that will flourish in almost every USDA growing zone. The eastern cedar tree is a more petite tree that reaches a mature height of around forty feet. It is hardy, easily transplantable, and a dependable grower that requires little to no care from the gardener after it establishes roots. The fresh, distinct fragrance is unmistakably fresh and woody.  How to Use the Eastern Cedar Tree in Your Landscape All the eastern cedar tree asks of you at planting is a sunny or partial-sun spot in your yard and well-draining but fertile soil. After planting, provide about an inch of water each week if you live in a climate that doesn't receive much rainfall. Once the roots take hold, the tree will become drought-tolerant, and you will only need to water it if you enter an extended drought phase. The eastern cedar tree is gorgeous as the focal point in a natural area, in a semi-shade garden, or when trimmed back and shaped as a stand-alone specimen.  Eastern Cedar Tree has Year-Round, Evergreen Beauty  The eastern cedar tree enjoys immense popularity because it has a lovely, medium-green color all year. The tree grows upright and has an attractive reddish-brown bark. The cedar foliage is a silvery, cool green--sometimes presenting as blue-green and grows in whorls of three. The evergreen needles are thin and delicate with a slightly prickly texture. Small fairy-sized flowers appear in the late winter. They are white to white, green. They are so small that you might miss them hiding in the foliage. Hydrangea Arborescence Live Stakes - Package of 25
$99.99
Hydrangea Arborescens Live Stakes  Hydrangea aborescens Live Stakes: TN Nursery offers Hydrangea arborescens live stakes, an affordable way to add mass plantings of this lovely shrub to your garden.  Hydrangea arborescens enjoys wild popularity for its stunning snowy white flowers, hardiness, and ability to flourish in partially sunny locations.  Hydrangea arborescens live stakes are hardy, a North American native species originating in the east coast's wet woodlands.  What Is a Hydrangea Arborescens live stake? Live staking refers to a planting or reforestation method horticulturists use for planting large numbers of trees or shrubs.  The process starts when a horticulturist harvests shrub branches during a dormancy phase. Then, they immediately plant the cuttings (stakes) they gathered in the desired location, allowing the roots to take hold.  This procedure most often occurs in the late winter or early spring. However, shrub dormancy times change based on the local climate. A good rule of thumb is to install your Hydrangea arborescens live stakes as soon as the ground defrosts in the early spring.  Hydrangea Arborescens Shrub: Graceful Good Looks  The Hydrangea arborescens is a coveted garden shrub due to its gorgeous, snow-white flowers.  Your Hydrangea arborescens live stakes look small now but imagine the future appearance. Your live stakes will become a shrub; it grows tall and erect, reaching six feet tall and wide without pruning. Its leaves are dark green, glossy, and oval-shaped. The foliage provides the perfect backdrop for the summertime show of substantial white flowers.  The stems will be light brown and slim but sturdy enough to support the prominent pom-pom flower. The flowers will be impressive and measure about eight inches across. Those stunning blossoms will last for weeks, emitting a sweet floral scent and beautifying your garden.  Order Your Hydrangea Arborescens From TN Nursery Today  Hydrangea arborescens is famous for its gorgeous flowers and adaptability across challenging growing conditions. Silver Maple Live Stakes - Package of 25
$99.99
Silver Maple Live Stakes  Silver Maple Live Stakes, Acer saccharinum, or the silver maple live stakes, are a deciduous American native tree that grows in almost every USDA growing zone. TN Nursery offers silver maple live stakes as an alternative for customers who invest in large-scale landscape or reforestation efforts.  Landscapers, conservationists, and gardeners all love the silver maple tree for its rapid growth, stately size, and abundant foliage and shade. It thrives in either a full or partially sunny site.  Silver maple live stakes mature into a resilient native tree. They are compaction-tolerant, cold-tolerant, heat-tolerant, drought-tolerant, disease-resistant, and pest-resistant. They love high-moisture soil, even wet clay, that can hinder the development of less hardy trees.  What are silver maple live stakes?  Live stakes refer to a propagation technique in which a horticulturist or arborist removes a tree branch during winter dormancy. These cuttings are the silver maple live stakes. After the spring thaw, the stake must go into its permanent new home as soon as possible. The live stakes will sprout roots there, strengthening and growing into a tree.  Silver Maple Live Stakes Require Very Little Care  Silver maple live stakes demand heavy moisture but dislike having wet feet. In the native forest, this species grows best next to marshes, alongside riverbeds, and in flood zones. Despite a penchant for moisture, this resilient tree will become drought tolerant as it matures.  Silver maple live stakes have a second need--a generous helping of woody organic materials upon planting. Please give them a big scoop of peat moss, woody mulch, or another nitrogen-rich fertilizer or compost.  Besides these two requests, your silver maple live stakes need little else from you.  Silver Maple Live Stakes Will Become a Stunning Tree  Silver maple live stakes can grow up to six feet per growing season. Although it's challenging to envision, let's look at the future of your life's stakes. Those silver maple live stakes can eventually reach around eighty feet and feature a dense, round canopy that provides plentiful shade. After you grow your silver maple live stakes, you'll also see where it gets its common name from--the silvery white underside of the emerald green, five-lobed leaves. Order Your Silver Maple Live Stakes From TN Nursery Today  TN Nursery staff will send your silver maple lives stakes fresh to ensure the best results. Please place your order today.
Sweet Gum Tree
$24.99
Sweet Gum Tree Sweet Gum Tree: Liquidambar styraciflua, or the sweet gum tree, is a tall, stately tree that performs well in the moderately warm USDA plant hardiness zones. The sweet gum tree is a native species to North America, often occurring in nature in flood plains, near swamps of marshlands, or near river tributaries. Although it can reach as much as 120 feet high, it generally averages approximately seventy feet at maturity. Gardeners and landscapers love this tree for its easy temper and the lack of care after the roots develop. TN Nursery recommends the sweet gum tree for customers seeking a tall tree that will be heat-tolerant and drought-tolerant. Another great reason to select the sweet gum tree is to help de-compact your soil. If you have compacted soil in your yard, the sweet gum tree loosens the ground with a shallower root system that grows wider than most trees--breaking up the soil as those roots strengthen. Other common names for sweet gum tree Some gardeners prefer other common names for Liquidambar styraciflua. Here are a few: American Sweet Gum Redgum Red Sweet Gum Sweetgum Sweet Gum Sweetgum Tree Gumball Tree These nicknames mostly describe the fruit of this tree--one to three-inch pods shaped like gumballs that appear every autumn. The pods contain seeds, which your local birds and squirrels will feast on throughout the winter.  The Sweet Gum Tree Makes A Wonderful Shade The sweet gum tree generally stays around a hundred feet when fully grown but sometimes grows taller. As it matures, the crown forms a pyramid-like shape with a rounded top. The trunk of this tree is sturdy and large to support its grand height--it can be as much as three to four feet in diameter. Its bark is light- to medium-gray and displays an intriguing, ridged pattern. The sweet gum tree leaves are multi-lobed and form a star shape upon maturation. They have slightly serrated edges, a dark green hue, and can be up to eight inches across. The canopy of the sweet gum tree turns amber, orange, russet, and purple in the autumn. The “gumballs” appear around the end of August and continue to develop through the early fall. Throughout the winter, they drop from the tree, much to the delight of your wintertime garden visitors. Order Your Sweet Gum Tree from TN Nursery The sweet gum tree is an excellent landscaping choice for anyone who needs a tall shade tree but has soil compaction. Sourwood Tree
$24.99
Sourwood Tree Sourwood Tree: Oxydendrum arboreum, or the sourwood tree, is a deciduous native to the southeastern hardwood forests of the United States. The sourwood tree is a smaller species, reaching a maximum height of twenty to thirty feet. TN Nursery recommends the sourwood tree to customers who wish for a tree that will look great without overshadowing the entire yard. You might also hear gardeners refer to Oxydendrum arboreum by these alternative common names: Sorrel tree Lily of the valley tree How to use the sourwood tree in your landscape. TN Nursery customers put the sourwood tree to work in these types of spaces: Pollinator garden or butterfly garden: Sourwood tree attracts bees, butterflies, moths, and other insects that spread pollen. Urban garden or park: Sourwood trees can add lovely color in urban or suburban applications without becoming overly large in small spots. Native species garden: This tree is a beautiful specimen if you want to show off North American plants. Landscape tree: Add color to an otherwise empty yard with the beautiful sourwood tree. Beekeeping: Beekeepers often express interest in this tree, as the bees use the sourwood tree's nectar to produce rich honey. Sourwood Tree Might be a Small Tree, But It Has a Big, Beautiful Presence The sourwood tree trunk is slender, approximately eight to twelve inches in diameter, which is well-proportioned when considering the shorter height. The bark is dark gray with attractive light scaling. Sourwood tree leaves are dark green, slightly glossy, and shaped like an elongated oval. The leaf has a slightly toothy edge. In the autumn, they generally turn crimson, burgundy, or purple. The essential oils of the leaves are sour tasting, lending the tree its common name. Sourwood tree flowers are a creamy white color and bell-shaped. They are similar to lily of the valley flowers, providing an alternate common name. The flowers droop from the stem and have a pleasant, sweet fragrance. They bloom during mid-summer. Order Your Sourwood Tree From TN Nursery Today The sourwood tree is lovely and will only overshadow a little space. It's perfect for a small yard or as a tree to create a small shade garden. When planted in fields and gardening plots, horsetail increases the soil's water-holding capacity and potassium content. Planting along the edges of fields helps reduce the likelihood of soil erosion. Horsetail can also be used as a pest repellent or fertilizer by making tea from the stem or leaves. This is usually accomplished by steeping in a pot of water for several days. The resulting liquid can be put into a spray bottle, applied to vegetable plants, or poured directly into the soil, depending on the gardener's needs. Horsetail is an ancient yet exotic plant that is considered to be a living fossil. Homeowners and gardeners will love this plant for its versatility and hardiness.
