We Sell Big Hardy Mature Blooming Age Echinacea Perennials at TN Nursery

Echinacea purpurea is a perennial flowering plant in the daisy family Asteraceae‚ commonly known as purple coneflower․ Characterized by its purple petals radiating from a central spiky projection‚ the plant is native to North America and has become popular among home gardeners and herbal medicine practitioners as well as nature enthusiasts․ The flowering period is summer‚ generally from June to September․ As an ornamental‚ the coneflower is often used in gardens and wildflower meadows in plantings that range from cottage gardens to modern versions‚ including prairie-style gardens and rain gardens․ The purple coneflower plant‚ which prefers full sun and well-drained soils‚ is considered one of the most important wildflowers in the regions of North America where it occurs․

Echinacea species are also an important resource for other wildlife‚ including many species of bees and butterflies‚ and hummingbirds․ Hummingbirds are attracted to the coneflower because of its structure and the availability of nectar․ The large‚ wide-open flowers of Echinacea make it easy for pollinators to access the nectar‚ and provide a landing platform for pollinators․ This indirectly helps grow new plants of the coneflower variety and increases the health of the garden․ Other reasons for planting Echinacea include creating an environment where these insects can flourish‚ thus helping support biodiversity‚ and providing them with food sources․

These long-blooming summer perennials often exceed 4 Feet In height

Other characteristics that may have led to its popularity include: its height‚ between 2 and 4 feet (0․61 and 1․22 m); how well its stems can withstand wind and rain; and the shape of its leaves‚ which are linear and lanceolate․ The individual flowers are dark purple with dropping petals and a characteristic conical seat cone-like centre with tapering florets․ The leaves are green․ Its name "cone flower" comes from this resemblance to a seed cone; these aspects‚ coupled with its propensity to naturalize‚ make it suitable for cultivation as an ornamental․ Furthermore‚ echinacea plants have deep root systems that are able to absorb water‚ as well as anchor and stabilize the soil‚ giving them hardiness․

Besides attracting pollinators to the garden‚ echinacea plants can also provide a number of ecological functions to a garden site․ These provide the benefits of soil stabilization through a system of deep roots‚ improving the quality of the soil‚ and contributing to the natural cycling of nutrients through the recycling of leaves and other plant material․ Echinacea also provides bird and insect life habitat‚ as well as a food source in the form of both its seeds and its leaves․ These features provide the primary argument for native species' use in landscaping‚ as these plants require less water and maintenance than their ornamental‚ non-native counterparts․

Echinacea has few pests or diseases and is thus easy for gardeners of all skill levels to grow and widely available in the horticulture trade․ Most pest species of closely related flowering plants tend to avoid purple coneflower and thus allow the plant to become established in a given area․ This is because the plant contains chemicals that serve as natural insect repellents․ Therefore‚ the purple coneflower is an excellent plant for beautifying a garden‚ as well as promoting the use of organic gardening techniques that do not involve the use of chemical pesticides․

Promotes a Healthy Ecosystem

To conclude‚ the purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) is not only a beautiful flowering plant‚ it is a plant that plays an important role in any healthy ecosystem․ It attracts pollinators‚ improves soil condition‚ and is more resistant to any pests that might want to eat it․ Whether it is a planted flower bed or a wildflower that has been encouraged to grow‚ Echinacea is a helpful flower․ By planting purple coneflower and becoming familiar with them‚ you will improve the beauty of the physical environment‚ and develop a greater understanding of nature and how native plants affect the landscape in which we live․

The Coneflowers arrived healthy! I started them in a pot and waiting for growth. I should be able to tell more in about three weeks or so. Thank you TN Nursery.

Coneflower

The purchase price sounded fantastic, however it looks like only 6 of the 8 plants will thrive. 2 of them have little roots and almost no plant above the root.

I ordered these knowing they would be small starter plants. I also knew they would ship in spring, but I was leaving on vacation and requested delay on shipping. I requested a shipping delay and they responded quickly and shipped based on my request. The plants were carefully packaged and ready to grow. I’m very happy with their product and service.

These Coneflowers brighten up my yard and look beautiful. Shipping was fast too. Only reason for 4 stars is that one plant was a little wilted.

Promising Start

Bought Coneflowers on buy one get one free. Received 3 in reasonably good condition with good roots. One had very little for a top.

One has put out good new growth 2 weeks after planting. One had a couple of small green leaves when received and is still like that. The location of the one without much of a top is lost under mulch. So expect to have two good plants in the spring, maybe three.

coneflower plants

I was very impressed with the quality of the plants. A variety of sizes, 5 being very large, 15 medium, and a lot of small ones (but still bigger than what I got from another seller last year. All seem healthy and ready to grow.
