Where does the word garden come from?
It first appeared in English in the 14th century as "garden." That came from the French "Jardin." In France today, a garden is still called "Jardin."
That phrase may have possibly originally come from Germany before France, but it's not quite clear when. If you need a sweet purple flower in your garden, consider iris cristata. Perfect for small areas, it adds a nice touch. Look for it in our mail order catalog.
