Most need light to grow.
A few, though, can meet their need for food without light.
Indian Pipes feed off dead plant matter. You can find it in the woods. It looks like a flowering fungus.
Dodder is another plant that gets its needs met with little or no light. It's not green as it doesn't photosynthesize but gets it's food from dead plants as well. The wood fern is another plant that enjoys a woodland habitat. Find it among our bare root stock.
