Witch Hazel thrives in well-drained soil and benefits from regular watering, especially during dry spells. Prune right after flowering, in late winter or early spring, to shape and remove dead branches. Spread a proportional fertilizer in early spring to sustain healthy growth and blooming.
Witch Hazel thrives best in partial shade to full sun. It prefers dappled sunlight, especially in hotter conditions, but can endure full sun in cooler regions. This versatile shrub adapts well to various light conditions, making it easy to grow.
Beautiful vibrant fall foliage , Easy to grow and maintain, Hardy and disease resistant

About this plant
American witch hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) is a native deciduous shrub or small tree that blooms in fall, from October to December, when most of the garden has finished. Fragrant, ribbon-like yellow flowers open along the branches as the golden leaves turn and drop, and they often last several weeks through frost.
If you prefer a small tree for your patio, a corner of your lawn, or your front walk, you would need to prune your witch hazel a little. It typically grows into a broad shrub when left alone. If you’re looking for a witch hazel tree for sale, the ideal size is 2-3 ft, which is enough to give you a good head start. Pick the healthiest and strongest stem and cut off the rest at the base every late winter. In a few years, you should have a 15- to 20-foot-tall tree, with an open, rounded crown. This plant ships bare root, so plant it while it’s dormant.
