Landscape Uses and Maintenance of Apricot Fruit Tree

The Apricot Fruit Tree is a rewarding fruit tree to grow that is beautiful, practical, and ornamental. They have small, soft pink to fragrant white flowers. This fruit tree grows very quickly and will gain a large amount of height in the first couple of years of growth.

These fruit trees require a moderate amount of maintenance. Get your tree pruners ready for action! They will need pruning of dead, rubbing, or diseased branches. You should prune to thin out some of the branches, too, which will give you better quality fruits. Prune in the late winter.

The autumn royal apricot tree need full sun. However, they benefit from some form of protection to better guard them against unexpected late frosts and wind. The sunlight will also dry out limbs and leaves, in turn preventing diseases from spreading through your tree.

Make sure to plant your Apricot Fruit Trees in an area with well-draining soil. Avoid planting them in clay soil that holds more water. These trees will not tolerate a high water table.

Water thoroughly when first planted until well established, taking care not to overwater. You will need to water this tree during dry periods.

Give a balanced fertilizer that will encourage fruit set and overall tree health.

Flowers will attract bees and butterflies.

Noteworthy Characteristics of Apricot Fruit Tree

The Apricot Fruit Tree is a Moorpark apricot self pollinating, meaning that you can have one tree and still produce fruit. However, most self-pollinating trees will actually produce more vigorous fruit when more than one tree is present. So, plant multiple varieties and enjoy a bountiful harvest!

Where is the best place to plant an apricot tree?

The best place to plant an apricot tree is in full sun with well-drained, fertile soil. Choose a spot with good air circulation to keep the tree healthy and productive. With sunlight and space to grow, it rewards you with beautiful blooms and sweet fruit each year.

Do I need two apricot trees to get fruit?

Lovely trees

I did a bogo and actually ended up with 3 trees so I really got buy 1 get 2 free :) one of them was not dormant and smaller so maybe that’s why it was included. I planted all 3, a frost came by and it seemed like it had killed the tree that wasn’t dormant bc it lost its leaves while the other 2 soon blossomed beautifully with lots of leaves. But eventually the smaller one bloomed again as well and now all three are thriving and beautiful, they are so loved. I’ve **** even planted trees before and was so nervous but now I’m inspired

APRICOT TREE

The apricot tree came out very nicely this spring (I planted last year, a little late, but it's thriving).
However, at the same time I had two Paw-Paw trees, last year but only one of them made it. through. I had a winter berry that **** make it at all.
In early March, I ordered a grape, two kiwis, two paw-paws and two dragon fruits. I received the two paw-paws that are looking very well, alive and starting to sprout leaves, the grape is struggling, but I expect that will survive and start getting strong, while the other two (kiwis and dragon fruits) have not arrived yet. I have not eperiencie with either one and I expect them to see how they fare. I would appreciate any points for those two plants...I am looking forward for them to grow fast and to be fruitful.

Very healthy bareroot apricot trees.

Moorpark. I ordered two, but received three... always a nice surprise, because we have deer and rabbits in the area that are real hungry this time of the year. The size of the trees received means that it's possible we get fruit in just a year or two. Excellent value!
