The Bald Cypress Tree is a stately deciduous conifer with reddish bark that grows in a pyramidal habit. This tree is native to the southeastern parts of the United States. It produces small cones that drop seeds to the ground below.

This is a low-maintenance tree that requires little effort once well established in your garden. While it looks like your standard evergreen, this tree is a deciduous conifer and will lose its soft green needles in the winter months.

These conifers prefer to be planted in a location with well-draining, acidic soil. They can tolerate different soils, including very wet or occasionally flooded soils. They can also tolerate some salt in the soil. Avoid planting in alkaline soils; this can lead to chlorosis.
