Creeping Phlox: TN Nursery proudly offers creeping phlox, a beautiful, highly fragrant, and deer-resistant flower. The North American native species can thrive throughout the entire contiguous United States.
Creeping Phlox Is Super Attractive
On average, garden phlox flowers stay under three feet high. This growth pattern makes them a stunning companion in front of taller shrubs, adding a gorgeous, vibrant color splash. Additionally, creeping phlox makes a fantastic addition to a rock garden. Finally, creeping phlox is a showstopper in vases or arrangements or tucked into casual bridal bouquets.
The plants form attractive clumps and produce sturdy stems with bright green leaves. Creeping phlox flowers grow on their branches and unfurl bright, five-petal blooms that peak sometime between April to June in most American plant hardiness zones.
TN Nursery Creeping Phlox Is Purple or Lavender
Creeping phlox can produce colorful flowers in an enormous range of shades. Lovely, five-petal creeping phlox blossoms can be white, blue, or lavender-to-pink. TN Nursery's creeping phlox generally presents as purple or lavender.
Besides the myriad colors, creeping phlox flowers have a pleasing and aromatic scent to attract butterflies, bees, and other beneficial garden insects--each essential to a healthy ecosystem.
Creeping Phlox Is Deer Resistant
While deer are lovely to observe, they can destroy your hard work in just a few moments. One solution is to install deer-resistant creeping phlox. Deer have a highly sensitive sense of smell, and they tend to avoid strong fragrances. Unlike pollinator species that love fragrant flowers, deer do not seem to prefer the scent of creeping phlox. So although they are not "deer-proof," creeping phlox tends to be "deer-resistant."
Creeping phlox grows well in a wide range of light exposures, including full sun, shaded, and partially shady spots. They grow in all of North America's common soil types and are disease-resistant and mold-resistant. Creeping phlox plants are easy to grow, requiring only water, occasional fertilizer and deadheading, and some mulch to help retain moisture.
