Long, narrow leaves decrease in size towards the top of the stem, which can reach up to six feet tall under the right conditions. Its flowers bloom in a cone shape at the top of the stem. I purchased a selection of blue plants. I planted the bare roots in a large planter I call the nursery. I wait until they are adapting to their new environment. When they start growing about three inches, I transplant to a larger pot, then to their permanent location in my garden. One grew to four feet. Others are 1- 2 feet! I can see buds sprouting and can’t wait until they bloom. I did have to cut the 4ft one down to 2 ft so it would get fuller.
