Stella De Ora Daylily Plant
In 1975 this plant was created. The Stella D' Oro daylily plant is hardy and easy to grow and maintain, an early spring bloomer, and blooms all summer long.
The Stella D' Oro is an herbaceous root plant native to Asia. It is a hybrid plant that belongs to the Xanthorrhoeaceae family. As a daylily, the Stella D' Oro reaches a height of 12 inches and generally blooms from May to July, though some growers report their lilies continuing to rebloom throughout fall. Because Stella D' Oros is low maintenance and highly adaptable to different growing conditions and climate zones, they have become the most widely-used variety of daylily.
While Stella D' Oro lilies grow best in areas that receive full sunlight, they also tolerate light shade. They are also drought-tolerant, though ideal soil conditions are moist but well-drained. Growing in soil with ample compost improves performance. As the most common variety of daylilies, Stella D' Oro is often used as flower borders, planting beds, and container gardens. Because they are rabbit-resistant and deer-resistant, they are an excellent choice for gardens and landscaping in areas frequented by wildlife and may be more prone to pest damage.
