Purple Hibiscus Description

Purple Hibiscus

Purple hibiscus has a prominent dark red eye between the elegant purple petals makes the plant unique and outstanding.

They are pretty rare and native to Eastern Asia. These are beautiful shrub plants with a size range of 8-12 feet tall and 6-8 feet wide. The dark green color of the leaves arises in the Summer and turns golden and yellow colors near and during the Fall. The dark purple-colored flower increases the beauty of the plant.

The purple satin tree requires full sun to grow and can tolerate extreme heat and temperature. They are very adaptive to a warm nature, and the plant's growth rate increases in full sunlight. They maintain the temperature by absorbing maximum heat and sunlight.

Purple Hibiscus attract butterflies and hummingbirds

These are very much easy-going when it comes to soil. The plant grows best in well-drained but poor soils containing hard clay and rocks. The pillar rose of Sharon can be grown on any land, but growth is favored in neutral and acidic soil with around 6.5.

These plants possess a tap root system and are drought tolerant to survive in extreme conditions. The shrub has a semi-double property, which means the flowers of the plants have two or more layers of petals, making them more attractive. There are five-petal flowers in which stamen and pistil are in the center of the flower.

The flower blooms for 12 months, but mainly from July to December. They spend their blooming period. Within 7-10 days after the blooming of flowers, you can harvest them. This plant attracts butterflies and hummingbirds with its appealing purple color.

They help in pollination, which also occurs by dispersing wind and seeds. This bushy, dense, thick, and vibrant plant mesmerizes people with its prominent red eye. You don't have to worry about the diseases because they are resistant to pests and deers.

This is one of the great choices of the plants purchased by people as it needs little to no care once it is established. The grown plant can manage in low or average water. Springtime is the best time for pruning as it encourages the tree's growth in beautiful shapes. Purple hibiscus grows dense green leaves with bloomy purple flowers, and the tree is shaped like an oval disc. These plants increase by 12 inches per year.

In the early Spring, these purple blooms give you joy and pleasure, and people present these flowers as a symbol of respect for each other. They are also used as ornaments for decoration purposes. These are easy-to-grow purple satin rose of Sharon with its purple flower and evergreen leaves that will embellish any garden.
