Privet Plants Are The #1 Used Evergreen Hedge
Privet Plants are Fast Growing and Excellent for Privacy Hedging
Privet Plants: fast-growing privacy hedge -- or if you want to fill in a garden border pronto -- privet (Ligustrum spp.) is the plant you want. This sizable genus of dense green shrubs offers privacy, sound insulation, wind resistance and more.
California Privet (L. ovalifolium)
Green or yellow-variegated leaves adorn this privet. It can grow up to 15 feet wide and tall; if you prefer shorter hedges, trim it often. White flowers and black, globelike berries attract butterflies and birds. Despite its name, this privet is native to Japan. Be aware that California privet can be invasive in some areas.
Regal Border Privet (L. obtusifolium)
Often topping out at about 12 feet, Regal Border privet is perfect for hedges and is suitable for people who want plants that are easy to care for. It's known to attract bees with its strong-smelling flowers.
Privet Plants are Fast Growing and Excellent for Privacy Hedging
Golden Privet (L. 'Vicaryi')
This variegated privet is known for its yellow leaves that are more brightly colored when the shrub grows in full sun. This is shorter privet with a height of about 10 feet. Golden Privet is relatively low-maintenance.
Northern Privet (L. x ibolium)
Also called north privet, northern privet is one of the fastest-growing plants you can have. It is very dense, especially if you trim it often when it's young. It grows to only 8 to 12 feet, so pruning is done more for shape than to control massive growth.
Everyone loves semi and evergreen hedges. Privet plants are by far the most sought after because of their evergreen looks, solid, dense structures and their ability to give a border that is very thick and dense.
The Privet Plant is a flowering deciduous species that is native to North America and Europe. The most common use for the Privet plant is hedging in lawns to provide a boarder. This species excels above other hedge options due to its shape-changing capabilities. Privet plants are a great shrub option as they can grow to be between 4 and 15 feet tall. Their height provides an adequate privacy barrier for the home. Not only does this species have privacy benefits, but it produces white flowers that add more character to the shrub.

Privet Plants should grow in an area that received full or partial sunlight order to reach maximum growth potential. This species is tolerant of salt, which makes them a smart option for a privacy border that lines the street. Once this species is planted, it only needs to be watered weekly, unless you live in a really warm or dry climate in which case you may need to water twice a week. As this shrub species grows, it will continue to fill in and become thicker, providing greater privacy around your yard. The Privet Plant is low maintenance and one of the best privacy shrubs options available
