It's just about time to pack up your picnic basket and head out for a noonday meal some lazy weekend.

Picnics first started in the Middle Ages when wealthy people brought along their meals during hunts. We get the actual word picnic from the French who call it pique nique.

What's your favorite thing to bring along? Sandwiches? Cold chicken? Antipasto? A bottle of wine? Or, maybe you'd rather just grab a quick meal at the drive-thru and sit in a park during your lunch break some day.

Regardless of whether or not you go the blanket and picnic basket route this summer, remember to take a break and enjoy at least one lunch out of doors this summer. You deserve the break. The zelkova makes a nice shade tree. Find it in our plant nursery.
