Mint Plant 2 For $11.99 Description

Mint Plant

Mint Plant: Many people know the distinct, fresh aroma of a mint plant the second they notice it. But many don't know how lovely the plant is in the garden.

The mint plant is an herb plant, a hardy perennial that is helpful in culinary applications.

But TN Nursery often reminds customers that it's a fast-growing plant that makes a useful, fragrant groundcover. It spreads quickly through a vigorous root system that establishes runners to reproduce. A single plant can spread up to two feet in a single season. That is how it can help fill large sunny areas of empty flowerbeds.

Mint plants are easy to grow and care for. They like well-draining, loose soil. If your soil compacts easily, break it up and add a bit of organic material before you plant--the mint will develop roots and take it from there.

Unlike some species, mint will not wither under the full sunshine; indeed, it loves nothing more than sunbathing all day. It's drought-tolerant and grows well across the United States. It's a native species and thrives almost anywhere you put it.

The Charming Appearance of the Mint Plant

Mint is a lovely plant that grows to about a four to six-inch maximum height. It has bright green oval leaves with slightly serrated edges and an appealing veiny texture.

The plant grows straight up and develops attractive, petite, two-lipped flowers. Mint flowers can blossom in a wild display of colors, including white, pink, lavender, mauve, or purple. Although the delicate flowers stay small, they attract bees, moths, butterflies, and other pollinators. These blooms have a slight fuzz that makes them appear to have a velvet finish.

Where to Grow the Mint Plant

Mint grows in the full sun. Consider it for your herb garden or as a ground cover plant. Besides that, it makes a lovely container garden plant. The bright green leaves and cute flowers are welcoming when you place them near an entry--and the scent is so refreshing!
