Christmas Fern 2 For $12.99 Description

Christmas Ferns are trendy native plants for easy landscaping that's low maintenance.

Christmas Fern, also Latin named Polystichum acrostichoides are evergreen in nature. It is the main reason they are widely known as the name they've been given. Most green plants lose their colors during fall and winter. Comparatively, these keep their dark green color intact. Polystichum Ferns belong to the hardy ferns family. This plant is low maintenance and growing them is pretty simple. It does not require a lot of water. If the soil is organically rich and damp, these ferns will flourish and thrive ideally. These plants stay in better shape in partial or complete shade but can tolerate some sun.

The evergreen ferns grow in the shape of fountain-like clumps. It forms a rich, dark green color, and the fronds are leathery. As its main features include its dark green color, it serves the role of an excellent ground cover. Moreover, they grow pretty fast. That makes it convenient to grow as time-consuming plants require more care during the early stages of their growth. Else, they die before even reaching their ideal shape.

Christmas Ferns are suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments

These plants can grow up to 2 feet and cover a large area. That is helpful if you are using this plant for basic ground cover. Their popularity for being perfectly green during fall and winter is there, but they also do well in dry seasons. Suitable for most seasons makes it available and plantable all year round.

Most feasible for home-based gardens as it is vulnerable to diseases. Once you plant it, it goes a long way without extreme care. In addition to plantation and accessibility, taking care of these plants also does not require much effort. All they need is an adequate amount of water.

The soil should be moist for its proper growth, not requiring you to water it multiple times a day. Mulching helps significantly in keeping the soil moist. These plants can be shipped bare-rooted, which makes them easily accessible. Unlike potted plants, they weigh less and require fewer precautions regarding shipping and planting.

As these plants belong to the family of hardy ferns, they are suitable for indoor and outdoor environments. You can plant them in a small pot or basket for indoor use; Their lance shape and rich green color make them look more aesthetically pleasing.

On the other hand, its outdoor usage includes plantations in home gardens, woodlands, and parks. You can use it as ground covering helps prevent soil erosion. They also act as rabbit and deer-resistant. That helps keep your plants safe from getting eaten or damaged. It forms a thick covering over the ground and works as a protecting shield for soil against harmful environmental conditions.

All you have to do is plant it, which will thrive into a beautiful set of lush green leaves. It just requires minimal effort. These are famous around Christmas and are easily accessible and famous all year.

These arrived bare root and I planted them the next day in individual pots so I could keep track of their growth. It's been 3 weeks and they have sprouted and all seem to be growing nicely. I'll let them grow on a while longer before planting them in the garden.
