Carex Appalachian - 25 Plants $79.99 Description

Carex Appalachian

Carex Appalachian is known for its texture, and it is native to woodlands in the United States.

While not all sedges are the same, this plant is a sight that will keep you in awe; it is an attractive and fantastic native, weeping perennial sedge that grows in large stands. It belongs to the Cyperaceae, also called the sedge family. The sedge grows naturally in dry to mesic deciduous forest.

It is known for its texture, and it is native to woodlands in the United States. Thanks to their low maintenance, once they are grown, they require less care.

It is known for its dry soil tolerance, so it tends to grow and spread between 3-8 each, depending on the soil moisture of your area. It is one of the easy growing plants, especially in an average garden or landscape, as it is kept away from wet soils.

Many people find the tree attractive; it creates a soft appearance in the landscape, so they grow it in their garden due to its greenish coloration, which signifies nature, growth, harmony, health, and renewal. It naturally gives a catchy light and creates visual movement as it swirls around trees or rocks when grown in masses.

Carex Appalachian does not tolerate excessive moisture

The plant adapts to many soil types. However, it does not tolerate excessive moisture; it can grow in a container. It can be a great companion for many plants, including false Solomon's seal, merry bells, early meadow rue, wild columbine, wild geranium, and many more since they all grow in the same pattern. Hence, they give a rich quality cover layer to your garden. Together they serve as cover, nectar, and sides for several animals.

It blooms around April, May, June, July, and August. Giving a beautiful inconspicuous flower color, with delicate grass-like leaves that grow up to 12-18 long and 1/8 wide, and it is draped to the ground. It provides shelter for small mammals and ground-loving birds and serves as food for beautiful birds and small mammals; It also propagates by division in spring or seed. It is naturally distributed to woodlands, rocky hillsides, and stream banks.

It is a pollination site for bees, butterflies, and other insects and is deer resistant. The leaves start at the plant base, which gives it a fountain shape.

Are you living in a dry shade area? Then this is a plant that will add beauty to your environment; it is a fine-textured and fountain-shaped plant that can be used as a ground cover. It can create whorls or edges even when there is no wind with its planting pattern.

Although it takes time to establish its clump-forming nature, it requires less maintenance. The signature color of the plant is greenish flowers with small yet attractive seed heads. It grows happily in the shade, or partial shade grows this sedge and adds nature to your environment.

    Fast delivery of plugs

Posted by John Levanduski on Aug 06, 2020

The plugs showed up virtually the next day. The weather was extremely hot when they went into the ground but I watered profusely and I think every plug has started putting out growth. I'd give it five stars for the your company's performance so far but the plants are just not big enough to really judge yet.
