Ranunculus Buttercup- Ranunculus asiaticus

Ranunculus Buttercup is an attractive, easy growing flowering plant with beautiful layers of delicate petals. These delicate, bright flowers not only bloom a brilliant yellow. Their eye-catching color is sure to liven up any landscape. In dry and mild weather, the three to five-inch blooms can last up to six weeks. They are often found growing in wildflower patches or meadows showing off it’s brightening effect or used to liven up borders with it's lush, ruffled look. They are also perfect for growing in containers. The Ranunculus Buttercup grows best in full sun but can tolerate partial shade as long as the soil is not too wet. Ranunculus will grow in well-drained soil and prefer rich, sandy ground. In the spring, adding a water-soluble fertilizer will strengthen the plant and encourage flower growth.  If you have clay like soil, do no plant as deep. Ranunculus start to flower 90 days after planting. Fall planted blooms start in early spring and continue for six to seven weeks. If planted in late winter, they will flower by mid-spring and last four to six weeks. In the winter, allow the foliage to die back to stimulate new growth in the spring. In colder zones, Ranunculus Buttercup is best treated as an annual as they prefer a more mild winter. If you live in a zone with heavy frost, it's best to store the bulbs indoors during the winter. In addition to their incredible look in a landscape design, once cut, the blooms can last more than ten days in a vase. The Ranunculus Buttercup is sure to add a textured look to any landscape.
