It's been a very rough winter in Tennessee this year, as was last also. With lots of unseasonal snow and frigid temperatures, we are all ready for Spring!

We have lots to talk about. Fruit Trees to start with. We have Pear, Peach, Apple, Plum Nectarine, Apricot and Cherry trees for the pickiest of gardeners.

Its time to plant too. I know some northern states stays frozen up until the Middle of April or the first of May but that's not a problem here at Tn Nursery. We ship through Mid May!

My preference is apple trees. The Honey Crest is a nice fruiting apple and its taste is unbeatable. Another favorite is the Belle Of Georgia Peaches. We've really never been in the fruit tree business the way I'd like. My goal is to forge into it with full steam ahead with thousands to sell, but this year we do have a good variety and assortment at our nursery, just not large quantities. Next year we hope to graft about 10,00 of each variety of all the fruit trees here on our tree farm.

I'd also like to share some good southern recipes to use with fruiting peaches, pears ,applies and plums. I will include this is more blogs I post. One of my families favorites is the peach cobbler. I've put the recipe below for you to enjoy. It takes about 5 minutes to prepare and 30-40 minutes to cook. A great dessert accompanied by a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream.

Southern Style Peach Cobbler

1 Can Peaches in Syrup

1 Cup Flour (self rising is fine)

1 Cup Granulated Sugar

1/2 Stick Butter

Mix Milk and Flour in Baking dish and blend together with fork until a nice smooth paste.Pour out peaches in syrup over paste.Evenly distribute granulated sugar over peaches.Drizzle with butter.

Bake 350 Degrees on top rack in oven for 30-45 minutes until dough rises over top and becomes golden brown.
