The landscaping use for the hydrangea is suitable as a shrub or perennial border as they can skirt around the legs of gazebos or garden structures.  The Rose of Sharon is a large, tropical-looking, deciduous shrub that is medium to dark green in the summer and a yellow color in the fall before the leaves drop. The bush most commonly grows in hardiness zones 5 to 8 and sometimes will grow in hardiness zone 9.

The bush will reach heights of 9 to 12 ft in maturity. It will also spread to 10ft in width. These shrubs requires being planted in well-drained soil with an alkaline to neutral pH. It grows at a rate of approximately 13 to 24 inches per year until it reaches maturity. The blooming period of the bush extends from June to October and requires full sun to part shade. In the summer, colorful cup-shaped flowers in shades of white, red, pink, and purple will grow on the bush. The landscaping use for the Rose of Sharon is good as hedges and foundations.

They will drop seeds, creating an opportunity for expansion. The bush also has good pollution tolerance allowing for it to grow in urban gardens.

We dig fresh our plants and ship immediately. We ship US Mail, Priority shipping. You will receive a tracking number once your plants ship. All plants will be fine in their packages for up to 3 days after receiving.

How We Protect Your Plants For Transit

We sell only bare root plants. We dip the roots in tera-sorb silicone gel to retain ample moisture for transit and surround with plastic. This is superior protection for plants in transit for up to 12 days.

Upon Receipt Of Your Plants

Open your plants and inspect the same day received. We offer 3 days to report any problems with your order. Bare root plants need to be planted within 2-3 days of receiving unless weather-related problems prohibit planting. Store in a cool place and keep roots moist and covered with plastic until they can be planted. Water for the first week daily after planting.
