Plants By Type
Willow Oak Seedlings will grow to become a medium size oak tree. These are native to the eastern and central portions of the United States. These can often be found near bodies of water and will even grow well in areas with poor drainage. It is also called by its Latin name, Quercus Phellos and will grow best in climate zones 5 through 9. These are moderate growing trees, growing at a rate of 2 to 3 feet per year. They can spand up to heights of 100 feet or more and have a 40 foot or larger canopy spread making it a wonderful shade tree. It prefers acidic, well drained soil, but will grow in poorly drained areas and also loves full sunlight. These are deciduous trees and the foliage will change to a yellow orange in fall before losing its leaves.
