Wild Geranium - Geranium Maculatum
The Wild Geranium is a herbaceous perennial that is native to Northeastern North America. This plant blooms a pale pink, deep pink, or lilac showy flower in the spring. The Geranium attracts butterflies and tolerates rabbits and deer. These beautiful flowering plants can grow to become around two feet tall and can also grow to small less than a foot. They prefer to be planted in moist soils that are well drained and also love to be in full sunlight and partially shaded gardens and other areas. These plants are great when added to large containers for porches, patios and also to decorate around a pool area. They do wonderfully when planted in climate zones four through eight and are also known as Geranium maculatum. They normally bloom during the early part of summer and the latter part of the spring months. They look amazing when several are planted together and bloom at the same time in a garden. This is a wonderful way to bring lots of bright and vivid color as they are blooming. These plants can have beautiful green leaves that display the beautiful blooms, and the leaves can grow to become around five inches long and also five inches wide.
