Some people love squirrels, others hate them. If you are one of those who isn't exactly a fan, here's a tip to keep them from annoying you quite as much. Consider getting a bird house with a metal guard around the entrance to help keep squirrels out. This will help keep them from chewing their own larger hole in the front of a wooden or plastic one. You can also add metal to one you've already built. It takes a minute or two longer, but it's worth it if the main reason you dislike squirrels is due to their eating your birdseed.
 
There are two types of squirrels, ground squirrels and tree squirrels. Ground squirrels include rock squirrels and flying squirrels. Some species of tree squirrels are the gray squirrel and fremont's squirrel. Both birds and squirrels like the Cornus floridus dogwood. Find it in our tree nursery.
