Ah! The sweet smell of a homemade pecan pie! There’s nothing like the sweet flavor of a freshly made pecan pie. Every grandma’s recipe book has one and each one is a bit different that create whole new flavors. These pies are traditional food s of the holiday season. A slice of pecan pie goes well with the flavors of a turkey and cranberry sauce. But instead of buying one these years why not invest a little and make your own version of this holiday classic. Here is a simple yet delicious dessert.
Ingredients
1 9 inch deep dish pie crust
2 cups light brown sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2 cup melted margarine
1 cup evaporated milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 eggs
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup pecan halves
Instructions
FIRST-you will need to preheat the oven to three fifty degrees.
SECOND-In a large bowl put brown the sugar, flour, margarine, milk, vanilla and eggs together. Blend or mix until a smooth batter appears.
THIRD-mix in chopped pecans.
FOURTH-mix in the pie crust.
FOURTH-place whole pecans gently and very decoratively
FITH-bake in your preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden it turns brown and filling sets.
Sixth- Take out and let cool for a few minutes then enjoy!
