Lily of the Valley - Convallaria majus
Lily of the Valley plants produce not one large flower, but a medium-height stalk from which dangles several beautiful, delicate, bell-like pale pink and white flowers. The leaves of the Lily of the Valley are broad and elegant, dark green and slightly waxy, cilminating in sharp points. Lily of the Valley produces a lovely, righly sweet fragrance which can easily be enough to perfume a small garden. Lily of the Valley tends to spread easily, and so they can act as an elegant groundcover when not in bloom. These sensitive plants prefer moist soil and shade, so planting them under a shade tree or the shadow of a building or pergola is highly recommended. These lovely flowers are just as good for container gardening as for having in a garden or landscaping area.
