You've seen hibiscus flowers. They're showy, pretty and a good summerplant. But what part is hibiscus tea made from? Not the leaves! And, not the bark as is the case with licorice tea. In this case, the tea is actually made from the sepals of the Hibiscus sabdariffa flower.

 

Another kind of hibiscus is used to make kenaf paper. If you've never grown hibiscus before, they're not hard to grow. The flowers are so large, they can perk up a small space rather easily. Check out the rose of sharon, one type of hibiscus, among our balled trees.
