If you have gophers, you know what a headache they can be. There are a number of ways to prevent them, but only you can know which is best (or easiest) for your situation. You've probably heard of methods involving concrete blocks or chicken wire or combinations of the two. 
 
If you want to avoid digging in the ground all together, there are a couple ways that have worked. Consider planting your potatoes in tall garbage cans and merely tumping them over when time to harvest. While a bit eccentric, you can also plant your garden in an old bathtub. Perhaps most strangely, grave liners, which tend to be about four feet deep and eight feet long, are used by some people. Golden Bell forsythia often does well in containers. Look for it among our bare root stock.
