Fruit trees from TN Nursery can be one of the most rewarding additions you can make to any backyard, garden, orchard, or winery. Trees that you plant today can still bear an abundance of fruit decades from now if properly cared for. Our diverse selection of bare-root trees is ready to ship and can be immediately planted.
Fruit Tree Options as a Long-Term Investment
Fruit trees force you to plan ahead as you make choices about backyard or garden placement. You need to allow enough room for the fully mature tree to spread out its branches. It also takes time and care to nurture and grow a tree. It will sometimes take several years from the initial planting before the tree bears its first fruit.
Consider the longevity of these trees as you make your plans as well. Peach trees will typically bear fruit for up to 20 years before they stop producing. Almond trees can produce for up to 50 years and persimmons for up to 75 years. Full-sized apple trees have been known to bear fruit for 150 years, so long as their branches don't break. A pomegranate tree can remain productive for 200 years or longer!
Fruit Tree Varieties and Pollination
If you're looking to add a single fruit tree to your backyard or garden, we have a selection of self-pollinating options. These types of trees can pollinate themselves without the need for additional trees of the same type. Wind, birds, and bees do all the work of pollination, resulting in fresh fruit every harvest season. Certain species of apples and plums require cross-pollination, which can only happen with multiple trees.
Tropical Trees from TN Nursery
Tropical trees are a great way to wow visitors and guests since they are less common than other types of fruit-bearing trees in the US. Pineapples, kiwis, bananas, and dragon fruit can all be found in our selection here at TN Nursery. Tropical fruits are surprisingly low maintenance and can be nurtured in a greenhouse for an extended time before transplanting them in a garden or orchard.
Ready-to-Ship Bare-Root Fruit Trees
We dig all our trees and prepare the roots before shipping them to you. The trees will be dormant and ready for planting when they arrive. Any necessary instructions will be included with your order, such as soaking the roots for a few hours before planting. Depending on the species of tree, it will take several years before it bears fruit--but it will be worth the time and effort!
