Crepe Myrtle Plants
Crepe Myrtles are great ornamental trees that many uses in a variety of landscaping projects. They are elegant in their appearance. The flowers will be pink, white, red or purple in color and will grow in clusters that cover the entire tree during the spring and summer months. When the leaves and flowers disappear for winter, they leave behind striking branches and a beautiful light colored trunk that gives interest even in the coolest of seasons. They will grow to be twenty-five feet at their tallest and can adapt to a wide range of soils but will do best in those that are moist but well drained. These trees are bright and vibrant as they bloom and displays beautiful color. Their blooms can appear in large and small clusters that are made up of small flowers. They come in all different colors and adds lots of color to gardens, natural areas and also lawns where they are planted. They are easy to take care of and are very popular with landscapers and homeowners. They can be used to create a wonderful look as several are planted together to create a beautiful border or to outline a driveway or sidewalk. These are also great to bring in small wildlife to an area such as squirrels, bees, butterflies and a variety of small birds. They grow very well in climate zones six through nine and are also very drought tolerant although they grow best in soils that are moist and well drained.
