The Beggar Tick grows rapidly and can spread like wildfire. If you are looking to save a lot of money on the plants that you choose the Beggar Tick will save you the most amount of money. This is the type of plant that can actually stick on your clothing or to your dog if you walk past it too briskly. The plant itself does not actually look like a weed; in fact it looks more like a different kind of wildflower. The Beggar Tick is typically green in color with small yellow flower buds. They may look a little bit like small sunflowers but they are not even in the same family! The flowers are similar in color with a yellowish or even almost orange bud. From August to October you will be able to enjoy the flowers form the Beggar Tick. The plant will reach about 3 feet in height and is usually only annual.
When a plant is annual it simply means that it will only live for a year and then it will die. This usually takes place when the cold blanket of air starts to cover up your town. The Beggar Tick is only going to live until about the middle of November. When the frost or the ice starts to roll around this is the last you will see of the plant. Before the Beggar Tick dies out it will spread it seed. The seed will come off with the flower and travel through the air as far as possible. When the seed lands this is where a new Beggar Tick will begin to pollinate and grow.
This is a great plant to have around if you are looking for a little bit of color. While the Beggar Tick may not last very long it may easily spread around your yard and re-grow next year.
