Plants By Type
American Elm is also known as Ulmus Americana and will be ideal for growth zones three through eight. This tree, or large shrub, will be between fifteen and twenty-five feet in height and can be as wide as thirty. It loves soils that are moist but well drained and can grow in either a full sunlight or partially shaded area of the landscape with no issue. It will produce flowers during the warmer months of the year that look like tiny horns. They are unique in appearance and will bring local wildlife such as squirrels and birds to the area.
