Adam and Eve
The Adam and Eve Orchid has a unique trait to it. When the roots of this plant are crushed or smashed they become like glue. It forms into a sticky putty that was often used in early times in history to hold items together when broken. It is also known that carrying a pair of the roots around attracts love and can sometimes bring partners together and help them fall in love with each other.
Adam and Eve's orchids are one of the most beautiful plants when in bloom. It has small yellow and white flowers that sometimes has a tint of purple on them. They bloom from during the spring and summer, and the green leaves remain on the plant on into the winter months. It can mature to be around six to eight inches tall and loves to be in full and partially shaded areas. This perennial is wonderful because it can adapt well to a wide variety of soil conditions. It is also called Putty Root and Apletrum Hyemale by the scientific name and grows best in climate zones five through eight.
