Horticulturist Amy Stewart has an interesting new book, Wicked Bugs. She details many bizarre bugs and their even more bizarre behavior. The Asian giant hornet likes to prey on honey bees. They've come up with an interesting defense, though.
They lure the wasp to their hive. Once there, they surround the wasp and flutter their wings at just the right rate to raise the temperature to 116 degrees which is just enough to kill the wasp, but not hurt the bees themselves or their honey. Bee loves blue lobelia. Find it in our online plant nursery.
